I've got a thesis due this Tuesday and need to get it bound. Just wondering if anybody here knows of anywhere in Cork City that will do it for me??

There's a place on Tobin Street that does it. My brother got his done there. Forget the name of the place but it's a small street.

It's the first Left on Washington St. When heading to Ucc, then another left. Next to Bishop Lucey park basically. :D

    This site might help better:

    www.ucc.ie/en/graduatestudies/current/thesis-submission/Binding/

Oh look, our college already has a binding information page. Goody. :D

Okay, the link's not working when pasted on my phone. Search 'Thesis binding Cork' on google, you'll get results.

Hubert and Kissane is in the one in Tobin Street (the street where the side entrance of Soho is). There is also a bookbinder in Blackpool in one of the business parks.

I got mine done by a guy in Waterford (the turnaround was too tight for any of the Cork binders). He did it for me in one day (a saturday). I would have been lost without him. His name was Thomas Carroll and he did a fine job. My fault for leaving it to the last minute!

What about An Scoilaire on college road, across the way from the elec eng building? I have gotten reports bound there before, so they should probably be able to thesis binding as well.

Not book-binding as far as I know.

I got mine hard bound at Hubert and Kissane on Tobin Street last year. They dd it pretty quck for me too, I handed it in on Friday afternoon and picked it up on Monday morning. I'd recommend them.

Do you need to book a slot in advance for book binding at Hubert and Kissane does anyone know?

I'll be handing up the end of September along with most people but won't be finished until the last week, so would need a very quick turnaround in Cork, if anyone knows of same day/next-day binding?

I was under the impression that college policy was that you submit soft-bound copies first for marking/review and then submit the hard-bound copies once corrections have been made based on the feedback from supervisors and externs (that's certainly the way it has operated in my dept. for the last number of years). Get on to exams/records and check that out.

Also, you should call H&K and see what kind of turnaround they can offer you. Better to know now than to have a headache later.

    Best of luck with it.

I said I'd rather drag up an old thread than create a new one.

I have to get three thesis binded in three weeks time and I called into Hacketts on Copley Street down beside the College of Comm. They said it's usually €25 per thesis if you bring the printing yourself. They said I'd want to hand it in on the Wednesday morning if I wanted it on the Friday which is fairly good.

Does anyone know of any other places in the city that does thesis binding? Would the price in Hacketts be as good as it gets for binding?

    thanks,

www.thesisprintingandbinding.ie - can not recommend it highly enough.

The woman who runs this went out of her way to be helpful to me and even did an overnight printing job as I was quite late getting it ready.

Not in Dublin, but all you do is send her the pdf and she will print it and post it to you, good quality and prices are reasonable too :)

    thanks for the reply.

I see it's €17 for postage, which makes it more expensive than Hacketts. It seems like the right job if i lived in Waterford but I'm limited to Cork City.

If you send her an email she might do a deal for you as regards postage, worth a try...

I got a few hard bound on Tobin st a couple of weeks ago. The price was about 30-35 depending on size and the number of copies. So that price sounds good.

There's also a new place almost opposite the Kino that does them.
I'm not sure of price there, I can't remember from the email I got.

You'd want to leave about 48 hours to be sure.
