Just wondering does anyone know how you create a full website using wordpress as your content management system. I'm looking to have one with multiple pages and one that I can upload files onto as well.

I've tried downloading a few themes but once I load them in dreamweaver I can't view them and get PHP runtime errors, I'm sure I've made some sort of a mistake but can't figure out what!

It is very possible. It is what I am now running on http://ampsoundsystems.com. The "blog" part of Wordpress is actually only playing a small role in the website.

To edit the template, you will have to find header.php, footer.php and things like that. You can even skip Dreamweaver and edit them directly in your Wordpress admin.

In order to install wordpress on your local machine, you need to set it up with a host server on your local machine. This is a great benefit, as it means you can tweak things and edit the appearance without impacting on your 'live' site.

Loads of tutorials/guides out there that explain how it can be done, this one explains it using XAMPP lite which I personally like.

I never use DW to edit mine. Just upload it to WP and find the Edit button.

Got it sorted and forgot to come back and post here! Thanks for the advice anyway and sorry for the delay in posting!
