    Hey all..

Moving to Galway in September to do a Masters in NUIG.. looking around at places to live.. Anyone any thoughts/ideas about living in the Rahoon area??

Close to city/NUIG?? Nice place to live??..

    Be delighted with any opinions..

Ya i don't want to scare you off but it's a bit rough compared to other places in galway. The westside area is pretty rough in general. It is pretty close to the college though

So where would be a nice place to live and is close to the college? What are Newcastle and Terryland like?

Newcastles a very student type of area, lived there for 3 years. Greenfields is a nice place to live, was lucky enough to get to know our neighbours. still great friends. Terryland is a bit far way if you have no bike or car. But it's manageable. Anywhere really close to the college is obviously great. Forster Court is a nice place near the train station too. Good luck getting a place!

As said before, Rahoon is pretty dodgy, St marys road is nice and parts of Shantalla and only 5-10 min walk, depending on where u get obviously. Knocknacarra is a nice place and loadsa rooms out there and plenty buses check it out!!
