Hey there just found out that my sister hasn't claimed any of her tax back for 4 years of working and I'm trying to help her out with this because she's very busy, just wondering if you can help me out with this:

    1. On her P60 it says she has worked 24000 as her total pay.
    - Net tax deducted was €1150
    - Employee employer prsi was totaled at 3000
    - Tax credits were €3660
    - Tax cut off €35000

This has been the same for 4 years every year. Does it mean that she will get paid back all tax up to €3660 for every year she worked?

She was also paying a lot of rent and was also taking care of her husband at that time possibility of getting claiming tax back for that?

    Thank you

Tax paid seems about right, why does she thing she's entitled to tax back? Maybe a small bit from unclaimed credit but why all

Lol i dunno im confused too I'm only 18 and don't have a clue. I thought that when it says TAX CREDITS: 3660 she would get the 1000 tax paid back???

Somebody's gonna have to talk me through this until then I will be on the revenue website, this looks interesting.

I'm no expert but if she earned 24K then she's taxed 20% which is €4800.
Tke your tax credits of this and it leaves €1140 total tax for the year.

Tax cut off cut off is when you jump from low rate of tax to high rate.

The credits bacially mean your tax free for the first 18,300 you earn.

Tax credits are not actual money that the govt give you get her to ring revenue or go in and ask for a P21 for the last 4 years if she has over paid and it doesnt look like it then they send her out a cheque for each of the years attached to the P21

I thought that too I was working part time and got emergency taxed and they just sent me a cheque after I asked for a P21.
