Hi all, this is for those people who like me were planning on getting the iphone with Vodafone. I've decided to stand against being ripped of and as much as I want the iPhone4 refuse to be taken for a ride. I could cope with the high handset price but not the reduced service.
Just wondering if many people will still get their iphone4 with Vodafone?

Edited to say: as Sarge just clarified, these data plans are only for new customers after the 1st of sept..

Agreed , how can they offer a poorer service at a higher price and get away with it ?

Would make great use of free V to V calls/texts but at those prices they can fupp off.

I just hope they don't change the vodafone simple plan, that works perfect or me and in ire they're prob thinking of how many people will work around the terrible iPhone tariff and go into that with a sim free iPhone

Glad I bought iPhone 4 from apple now

It appears from the vodafone forums that you can still get the existing iPhone plans (with 2Gb of data) if you get your iPhone 4 before the end of August, and the reduced services will only apply to people who sign contracts from the 1st of September onwards.

I appreciate this isn't an answer to the high handset prices, though.

Hundreds of O2 customers were waiting of the new iPhone price plans to come out after getting out of there contracts due to reg 17. It's looking more likely that three are going to get a lot of new customers unless O2 produce something but I doubt it considering their history. Vodafone should be ashamed of themselves.

Yep I'm on that plan since I had my 3GS unlocked and contract cancelled. Inclusive data roaming and free VF to VF calls and texts for €30 works great for me. Not a chance of signing up to those (and presumably O2's yet to be announced plans).

at a guess, I would say the high handset price is so they have something to reduce when they change the plans in sept, make it look like they are giving you something in exchange for the reduced data plan..

How the hell are they the biggest mobile phone operator in Ireland.
I have heard on the business end, there very aggressive. But on the personal end. That is just taking the mick.

    Vodafone FAIL

ok grantit i can get my 2gb data bundle since i could sign up before september, but what about people after this time?

VF are just shooting themselves in the foot for this. i can just immagine when christmas comes around, everyone will flock to three. the only sign ups Vodaphone will get is people that have no idea what "dataplan" or "3g" even means. They probably just saw the new shiny iphone on the tv ads and said I WANT!!!

Was going to move to bill pay with VF but going to move to 3. they've missed a great opportunity here.

not a hope, vodafone have not resolved their website issues yet, why would someone purchase an iphone on those plans. they are crazy.

o2 are doing iphone4 on 12mth contract now, with more contract options, plus they have EDGE and a working website.

not in the slightest, they are not competitive in the business sector either.

look at o2 release EDGE, vodafone dont have anything that comes even close.
