Went hunting for these for a festival I'm heading to. Given they have been all the rage lately I thought it would be easy enough, but no joy. I'm looking for ones in black, but wouldnt mind ones with a subtle design.

    Tried:

    Penneys - Dundrum
    M&S - Dundrum
Dunnes - St. Stephens Green (Only had multicoloured designs)
    Oasis - Dundrum
    River Island - Dundrum

Can anyone think of anywhere in town that may have them. Preferably southside because I'll only have my lunch break

Try Topshop, and also the River Island on Grafton St. They have a bigger selection than Dundrum.

They usually have over the knee socks in Claires Accessories.

American Apparel on College Green always have them ... both knee and thigh high

There's usually a stall or two in the George's St Arcade that stocks them.

Yeah I was in River Island on Grafton Street. The cheapest was €6.50, for 1 pair of socks! And they were lacy things that didnt look too comfortable.

Should have thought of Claires! Will try that and Topshop tomorrow. At least topshop do a student discount.

Why oh why do I leave everything to the last minute.

Try a different penneys or dunnes, they have them all the time in with the tights or darker socks cos they sell all year around for the secondary schools. But some stores might have removed them to make way for the wellie socks but most stores are filling with school stuff now so they should be back out on the shelves & they are only a couple of quid a pair!

If your tall, then don't bother with any of the high street over the knee socks as there made for teeny tiny people.
American Apparell make the best over the knee and thigh high socks. They are excellent quality and come in a range of colours.
I use their thigh high socks and just roll them down depending on how much leg I want to flash.

I agree if you're tall don't bother. I got a lovely pair in river island about 3 years ago I was so naive to think they would actually go over my knee even though they were called 'over the knee socks'. oh well. definitely american apparel and I got a 2 pack of plain black ones in Penneys before that were long enough. and tesco had them before too you could try there!
