    Hi,

    Just wondering if anybody in the Limerick area has any experience with Michael Griffin & Sons? We're hoping to extend and would like an idea of what he's like to work with, standard of workmanship etc?

    ask them for a set number of previous clients data, contact the clients in person review their work yourself, ask the clients youself for their views.

    I did! But I'm afraid he was a bit evasive... he offered to have us come out and inspect a couple of sites he's currently working on, but what I really wanted to do was to contact his clients and talk to them. After all, you can't tell by looking at a build whether it's running on schedule, on budget etc.

    Tbh, if he's not prepared to offer you this service, go elsewhere. I'm sure there would be guys queueing up happy to provide references.

    As said already avoid this builder. A good builder will be proud of his work and will only be happy to show you it and give you the clients details as he would have nothing to worry about.

    Do you expect him to just give you the names and numbers of his clients?
    Would you be happy for him to give out your name and number or address even to his future clients?

    I do hope that you are requesting him to ask his previous clients if it is OK to pass on their details.
