I would like to check if I have a warrant for my arrest?

I know I could just walk up to a Garda station but I'd rather a different method.

If its for a court case you can check the outcome with the district court. You're better off to deal with the gardaí though. If they find you before you come forward you could find yourself with an extra charge.

Could I just phone a Garda station? Would they give this information to me over the phone?

Somehow i think, if there is, they might want to tell you in person...

They might. But if there is a warrant you will have to be arrested eventually.

Slightly unrelated but can someone ask to see their Pulse file? I've never seen one and even though there is nothing on mine (I HOPE!?) I'd love to see one and I'm assuming you can't just see a random person's record.

I'd say if it were even possible surely it would require a FOI application? Can't imagine you could check files of others but open to correction.

Yeah well I figured you couldn't see just any person's record, but thought if I asked nicely they'd show me mine. :)

Certain Garda files are exempt from the FOI Act, e.g. info. relating to a current criminal investigation...

Well I highly doubt there is a current criminal investigation on me at the moment... but hey if they refuse then perhaps I'll be in for a surprise :D

He may as well attempt to find out if he has a warrant before seeking advice. Don't really see the point in seeing a solicitor for no reason.

You can make a request under the Data Protection Acts to see your pulse file. People do it all the time.
