    Hi all,

I was suprised to find that I failed the NCT over the brake fluid level, the level is exactly half full, this level is within manufactures specified limits therefore how can they fail a vehicle that is within these limits?
Do these guys (nct people) know better than the car manufacturers themselves?
If you do what they say and fill it to max and if your brake pads are nearly fully worn when you get new ones you will need to basically take out the fluid you recently put in which in some cases is a complete waste of time and money

Brake fluid is cheap and if you were fitting new pads it might be a good idea to give the calipers a quick bleed. As to why they failed you on the fluid level I don't know seems a bit crazy:confused:

P66 of nct manual says it can fail if "Less than 1⁄2 full OR below manufacturers “minimum” level."
So even if half full is within manufactures guidelines then they can still fail it. That seems odd...

Mr CJ - What did they say when you queried them?

To be honest I was not sure there and then until I checked it myself after i got home, there where other minor items it failed on aswel but I intend on finding out how they can justify a fail, it is beyond me how they get away with this kind of stuff.

It says less than half full or below min level it can fail  the min level part does not make sense as you can still fail if it is above min level but less than half...

I think they are completely wrong with this as I said before I am within the required limits set by the guys who built the god damn car...

    That is bad OP.

A friend of my in his 50's failed on his indicators were not orange enough even though it was original lights and no boy racer people in family.

My gripe with them is failing on extras on your car

if you have clear lenses for your indicators you will have an orange bulb. over time the paint or covering on these wear out and the bulb flashes white hense the fail
