LG LH2000 for HD Ready or LG LG3000 for Full HD.

Mpeg4, Mheg5, good price, can play nearly any format of movie from a USB stick with a few simple changes in the service menu (depending on the firmware).

Agree with Bob, bought a 32Lg lh2000 and it is perfect. Great picture quality both with a Humax HD pvr box and playing blurays through a PS3. Only has 2 HDMI connections but with the addition of an Aldi HDMI switcher it's a problem easily solved.

The TV decodes the new Irish DTT signal so no problem once that rolls out. The remote and the TV settings are very intuitive. I had mine up and running and switching between all 3 HDMI sources (PS3, DVD and Humax) within minutes.

    I bought my 32 LH2000 in Currys for €370.

The one linked above looks interesting, can it play MKVs, MP4s, MPEG2 etc off of a USB stick as well as Divx?

HD Ready is when the screen has a resolution of 1280×720 (usually) and Full HD is when the screen has a resolution of 1920×1080.

Both can accept Standard and High definition (both 720p and 1080p) sources but will scale up or down depending on it's native resolution.

From 10 foot away on a 32inch screen, the difference in quality between a HD Ready TV and Full HD TV playing the same 1080p source is negligible.

To me, if you can get the LH2000 for €370 or the LH3000 for €470, it's not worth the extra 100 for Full HD on a 32in screen.

But if you can get a 32in for €400, then the extra €30 is worth it, for piece of mind if nothing else.

Samsung have a better design and a brighter, more colourful than an LG. Some Samsung models have 18bit colour panels. You should gor for at least a 40 to 42 inch full hd tv and try to check the difference in specs between LG tvs and Samsung ones, also check the sound and picture of both makes together in a store through the same source and ask to try them both out using different settings with each remote. Do you like plasma tvs? :)

In the end I couldn't find that LG model so I bought the Samsung LE32C530 for 429 in Currys. I'm pretty happy with it so far, especially how you can plug in a storage device to it and play any downloaded movies directly from that.
The sales guy gave the hard sell on extended warranties and over-priced HDMI cables but I gave them the brush-off.
