I am addicted to tea. I love the stuff and im probably drinking too much. Im trying to cut back on caffine and just want to ask people that has tried decaffinated tea - is there much of a difference?

How much are you drinking? How do you take your tea?

I tried Barry's Decaff a long time ago and it tasted a little flat compared to normal tea. I'd sooner have a herbal tea than a decaff tea really. Have you tried Rooibos? Not for everyone but it might help with cravings, if you have them.

I drink around 8 cups a day with milk. And going to the loo alot and been told i should cut back on caffeine.

I tried a ccouple of herbal teas before and never liked the taste of them. But then i have never tried them all. Don't want to be wasting money on buying green tea and peppermint tea if end up throwing it out.

The way I understand it, caffeine only has a diuretic effect if you take more than you usually do. Someone who does not normally take caffeine will be very affected by it but someone who takes caffeine regularly will need more than their 'fix' amount to make them... pee.

Have you 'upped the dose' recently? (so to speak)

The Barry's decaff I tried (ages ago) was a little flat but if you don't like herbals it's probably the best solution. If you make tea by the pot you could always cut the caffeine with one or two decaff bags in with the regular tea.
