Fiat Punto 1200 timing belt, how much?

    Sisters 2002 Punto has 55000 miles and the belt has never been changed :eek:

    What should she be expected to pay? (Main Dealer or Independent )

    Belt kit, Water pump and labour

    that an 8v or 16v? You're looking at around 250-300 euro for the 8v (that was what i was quoted 2-3 years ago anyway)! 16v is only on the...HLX & the sporting, so its more than likely the 8v.

    Assuming it's the 8v version, it's a pretty simple job as timing belts go probably no more than 1 or 1.5 hours labour + parts. For your peace of mind, the 8v engine is also a non interference engine so even if the belt goes, it's just a case of putting a new belt on and timing it up.
