Cheapest Fully Synthetic (Diesel) Oil Around Dublin?

    Cant believe this is just under 50 euro everywhere Ive looked.Is there significant difference between Petrol and Diesel Oil?Would you buy a dearer oil and keep it in longer or buy cheaper and change more often?

    While I have seen "Diesel" oil, all the Fully Synth Oil I looked at mentioned diesel conformity on the back too (just what I looked at mind). Diesel Oil has more cleaning additives in it. That in itself is not always a good thing.

    Id keep your question simple and see if you can find a cheap source for fully Synth (actually fully Synth like Mobil 1) Oil, and not go down the extremely polarized other Oil question and answer path.

    Afaik, yes. Diesel combustion chamber gets up to 600 degrees C, petrol to 350C.

    So, while you can usually use a diesel-spec oil in a petrol engine, the reverse is not true.

    Check your owner's manual (or online), and read the specs on the container carefully. Do not skimp on oil!

    Better off using good quality oil than having to replace your turbo down the road.

    GSF might be worth a ring
