Was thinking of Joining the AA

Have two cars and was thinking of getting cover for myself and the missus.

The AA want nearly €196 for the two of us and Mapfre seem to give cover for €80 each...

Anyone any advice? Any stories/experiences with either?

Any other suggestions? - Car insurance has not got road side as an option.

    Alan

I have used the AA 5 times in six months. I can not fault the service I get.
Even during the bad snow they had someone to me in 15 minutes after a crash luck I know given the day and conditions!.

The guys on patrol are sound and are mechanics not just a man with a tow bar.

I also use AA and have no issues with them, as far as I know if you sign up with Direct Debit it should be cheaper ... think my renewal was only 40 quid this year.

I got AA Roadside today actually, myself and my Mam together cost €100 on the dot.

We'll see how it fares this weekend with ATWR :]

The roadside assistance with car insurance is just as good - dont know why people pay money direct to AA - usually a lot more expensive.

    Where did you get that?

The website quotes €196 for two people on the basic package

You could try giving our breakdown guys a call at 1890 252944. They're nationwide and work with insurance companies like AXA so very reliable.

Its not available to all cars. For example my insurance company doesnt offer breakdown assistance to cars over 10 years old.
