Just wondering if anyone knew anywhere that sells retro typewriters. I have found quite a few on ebay but they seem to be charging extortionist prices for p&p and thought there must be a cheaper way. Any help is much appreciated

Im out in former e.europe and in my friend's office is what Id describe as a "stasi" typewriter. its frightening looking.

They are very heavy. I have one here at home, and could not believe how heavy it was when I had to move it. It must be 2-3 kilos. Monster !
Anyway, theyre almost giving away typewriters here but the cost of transport is really prohibitive. What was ebay avg cost on postage?

Does anyone remember the ad for the Petite 990.. it had the song " working 9-5" in the background and three girls about 10 years of age walking down a stairs dressed as secretaries with curly wigs and glasses? I ended up getting one for Xmas that was blue..

How about this one on Amazon? It costs £19.45 plus £5.17 postage even to Republic of Ireland.

EDIT: FFS, I just realised the thread is 18-months-old  I'm sure the OP is sorted by now!
