    Hi All,

Just wondering what ye would recommend in either a 2l vtec accord or try a get an evo 4 / 5. I have no experience with either as am coming from a 1.4 xsara. I have looked around a few sites and have found a few accords but cant really find many evos. I would be lookin at 00 01 accord if i could and have budget of about 4k. Had planned on legacy b4 but insurance will be a problem on these for another year so its a non runner. Is there a difference between the euro r and type r 00 accords. Don't know much about the styles and just wondering.

Also what sites other than donedeal usedcarsni do ye use? What price would i be likely to get for a 1.4i xsara 2000 105k miles.

    Cheers,
    Pa

If you have trouble getting insured on a B4 an EVO wont be much different. Hold on to the xsara for another year would be what I'd do.

Can't imagine an accord, especially a euro type r, being much different in insurance either.

the cl1 euro r has better spec than the ch1 type r. aircon, arm rest, integrated aerial, hids, sunglasses holder in the roof, maybe a few more bits but i cant remember. running costs on the accord/torneo will be a lot easier on your pocket than any 4wd turbo car.

Ya im with quinn as i am. 3 ncb on full license. they wont insure on anything over 110bhp until im 21 and this is apparently for all. i asked would they insure me on a gttdi 130 150 and they said no problem so i don't know what there on.

it is mainly running costs and bad reviews is what put me off the b4. torn between so many i dont know what to get. my list as it stands 306 d turbo, accord, bora, civic 1.6 vti, 320d and it seems to change everyday.

i have to get rid of xsara because a few bits are startin to go and i cant really see the benefit in spending money on it if i just drop the price when sellin it.

I'm the same with axa. My insurance doesn't change if I were to switch my Impreza to a 320d but it'll go up if I switch to a 1.9 tdi golf/A3/A4/passat etc.

Just a matter of finding out the cars individually.

The B4 is a hell of a lot easier to insure than an Evo.

That generation Accord, the Euro R is a Jap Import and the Type R is a Euro model so the Type R is easier to insure. They'd be handier to get insurance on than the Evo too.

If you're in your early 20's then an Evo is virtually impossible to insure. And you'll find it hard to find a nice example for 4k too

2 different cars to compare. Both will be hard to insure given your age and the risk ratings attaching to the cars. The Accord will cost less to run and maintain but the Evo will have loads more power, but will attract more attention from the scum in your area.

Meant to say aswell actually if you decide to go for an Evo make sure to go for the 5, looks so much better than the 4 IMO.;)
