When I open a new tab and try to go back to the previous tab, it is frozen and i can only close it.

    Is there a change of a virus/trojan?

Have you run a scan, whats your security software? Is this happening with any other browsers?

    it is only with Firefox.

    What scan would you recommend?

Well you should have one in your security suite, you should not be online without one!

Avast is free and perfectly good (and it doesn't use up CPU cycles like some do)

Uninstall Firefox, clear user data, reinstall, check.
And yes, you need at least an antivirus installed, and let Windows Firewall on.
