a warning for anyone who parks on jervis street adjacent to wolfe tone park, the said area becomes a clearway after 4 pm mon-sat so you are liable to be clamped, happened to me yesterday , after commiting to turning right into jervis car park i noticed a parking spot to my left so i thought ,i will only be around a half hour so for convenience sake i will park there . proceeded to put money in machine but it said this was not a pay period (4:23 pm)so i though happy days im getting something for nothing , also the whole road was full of cars, i double checked the pay and display sign and low and behold it said pay and display from 8:00am till 4:00pm , what i didnt see was the clearway sign which was turned the other way.(facing wolfe tone park) anyway proceeded inot jervis bought something but went back out just to check for clampers as still felt you get nothing for nothing in this city , still all ok unfortunately when i arrived back a mere 15 mins past 5 i was clamped along with around 10 other people. a joke this is not sign posted clearer as you automatically think if the pay and display times are shown then anytime after is free to park.so annoying .

Its been like that for years tbh.

Seriously tho', if it said paid parking until 16:00 and everywhere else in the city centre has it until 19:00, would you not have copped it was a clearway?

Its a little naive to think that its free parking on Jervis St from 4pm to be fair.

Thats what you get for being to scabby to pay the 4ish quid to park for an hour in the Jervis Centre:rolleyes:. Is it a BMW or Merc you drive!:p lol

Is this for real? There are loads of signs all over there clearly marking this area as a clearway from 4pm on (until 7pm, I think). There are also plenty of 24 hour clearway signs on Abbey Street near there, where plenty of people stop "for a minute" not caring that any car that passes them has to pull onto the Luas track to do so.

It would be much better if these cars were towed rather than clamped though.

It's the same on Waterloo Road. Daily spectacle of irate drivers who park in the bus lane (which becomes a clearway after 4), furious that they've been clamped when there are plenty of signs saying it's a clearway.
