I know a lot of you have played through battle.net on WoW etc, so you would already be familiar with this, but for those of us who dont, this is a handy tool for added security.

There are 2 versions, battle.net mobile authenticator (iphone etc)
and the battle.net authenticator key chain.

How to setup the mobile authenticator.

    Step 1: go here http://eu.battle.net/en/
    select SC2

Step 2: go to your account page located here
    https://eu.battle.net/account/management/

step 3: select settings, and then select change security options.
    located here https://eu.battle.net/account/management/authenticator.html

step 4: select your authenticator! i choose the mobile authenticator
You will now be sent an e-mail.The e-mail will have a link in it.
    go to that link.

step 5: go to your iphone / mobile and download the battle.net authenticator app. I found it faster to just search "battle.net" but you can also download the app, and sync it with itunes.
    http://itunes.apple.com/app/battle-net-mobile-authenticator/id306862897?mt=8

Step 6: that link you opened in your e-mail. It is asking for 2 codes.

    14-Digit Serial Number:
    Authenticator Code:

Open the app on your mobile.
click "setup" and you will see a serial code like this "EU-1234-5678-9101"
enter that code in the box.
now, on the app, click menu, and then click "view code"

You will see a screen like this. Once the green bar reaches the end, the code updates, so be quick in typing it in.

Step 7: once you have both codes entered, click "add authenticator"

you will then be returned to the account setting page, and there will be a message.

    Authenticator Added!
You have successfully activated the Battle.net Mobile Authenticator. This Authenticator is now required to log in to World of Warcraft, StarCraft II and Battle.net Account Management.
I strongly suggest you write your authenticator code down somewhere just incase.

Now everytime you log into battle.net or your account, you will need to provide the code that updates every 30 seconds.

Thats it. Your account is a lot more secure.

    i hope this helps!

    regards,
    rmc.

Defo get an authenticator on a bnet account. I've heard of people's SC2 beta accounts (which had no link to wow) being hacked during the different phases of beta. The accounts are the same as a wow account so they're targeted by chinese gold sellers.

Tbh, I'm surprised bliz didn't include authenticators with the CE edition of starcraft 2.
