"Blocked" Taps

Taps in my bathroom sink have lost pressure to little better than a trickle.
When I stick my finger into the taps I can feel some kind of hard blockage just at the bend in the tap. Is this normal and is it OK to just pick it away with something like a knitting needle?
    thanks

it would totally depend on the design of taps if there is meant to be somethin there or not , how you would check it usually is by turning off the water supplies to taps , disconnecting pipe work behind taps and blow through .
I dont reccomend doing this unless you know how to properly turn off water and know how to disconnect and reconnect the pipes correctly.

If there is flexi connectors, some of them have little mesh filters that can be cleaned. Doubt it's in the tap itself, if it's 10mm pipework or flexis then I'd bet it;s them;)

Is it both taps or just maybe the hot, i have seen numerous hot taps becomiong blocked with small bits of insulation that would have been cut away around the cylinder when it was installed, if it is only the hot then this wouldmost likely be the problem
