  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,190 ✭✭✭Dublinstiofán

Hope its the iPhone. At least then the network providers can release their offers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,324 ✭✭✭BBMcQ

In the US store, when you click on the iPhone tab it shows Buy iPhone 4.When you click on the buy iPhone 4 button it brings you here:

    http://store.apple.com/us/go/iphone4?aid=AIC-WWW-NAUS-K2-BUYNOW-IPHONE-INDEX

which is the same page they are showing at the Irish Apple Store. Makes me thinks its not related to the Irish release of the iPhone 4. Probably Mac related.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,190 ✭✭✭Dublinstiofán

They have to put it up sometime. Theres only three damn days left until the release.

I thought there was rumour that the providers were to announce their pricing this evening.

It usually comes back around 8.30 EST. So about 1.30 our time.

It's going to be mostly Mac updates. iMac, Mac Pro, new ACD and maybe a Bluetooth trackpad thingy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,904 ✭✭✭cian1500ww

Why do they need to take down the store, surely they can add the stuff to the server and then put up the links when needed. No need for downtime imo.

"We took the world's best all-in-one and made it even better," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. "With the latest processors, high-performance graphics and signature aluminum and glass design, customers are going to love the latest iMac."

Back saying buy iphone on apple.ie. Redirecting to the US store though. Any particular reason for this. I don't understand the technical side of the website but seems silly to be redirected there.

    Its not back for me?

    EDIT: Never mind back now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,155 ✭✭✭Jofspring

Irish store still says updating store and that update page is the .ie address not .com.

edit: ya scratch that the store is back but the iphone 4 is now gone from the home menu on the store. Just says iphones available from 499.

So it looks like I'll be forced to give VF or some money grabbing Joe Soap on eBay my hard earned cash.Unless they are going to update the Irish store again with a buy it option:confused:

for some reason the main iPad pages still say notify me, yet if you go into the store it is there for sale

It would actually only take them two minutes to put up a press release saying "the iphone 4 will not be available to buy online till Friday" or "It will be available as of Thursday" anything like that. It will save a lot of people hassle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,499 ✭✭✭IamMetaldave

Even if the iPhone 4 page went live tomorrow there'd still be plenty of time for them to deliver them around Ireland for a Friday release. I read on another thread that their headquarters is in Cork, so couriering phones would be no problem from there.

yeah their European Headquarters is in Cork City, but I don't think that will change anything for us to be honest. I'm pretty sure everything goes through a UK distribution centre

Agreed on both posts. Why do we even bother:mad:

If another manufacturer had a fone with such App support and as smooth a OS,I'd have given them my cash straight away.We all know the iPhone is
    way behind in many aspects.

Cork has nothing to do with the iPhone. Production is done in China, flown to Holland, customs cleared and then distributed around Europe.

Given that they didn't bother adding the iPad to the Irish online store until now, there's a good chance they'll do the same with the iPhone 4. They want big queues on Friday.

They want big queues but the problem is no one knows where to que. I'm going to chance compub on my way to work Friday but somebody already said they wouldn't have them till next week or the week after that.

Ah OK, I didn't realise. I thought they may ship from there, usually countries have some sort of distribution hub.
