    I prefer COLOURED LIGHTS

    Arent they beautiful??

I cant stand people who put up ALL WHITE LIGHTS,they look crappy!!

The lights we had in the 70s and 80s were THE BEST (The big ones) now they have these small/skinny lights that dont look nearly as good in my opinion!

Has to be multicoloured. Nothing classy about my tree, just a load of twinkly lights.

White lights can look nice on certain trees etc. Like I have a mini tree & I put white lights, with silver tinsel on & tis nice.
But I have multicoloured star shaped lights to decorate my room (they stay up all year round too).
So it really depends. We had coloured lights outside our house but over time the covers faded & they looked crap, so dad just took the covers off and the white lights look nice.
coloured lights on the rest of our trees though (yes plural, we tend to have two & half trees, plus lots of garlands up around the tops of the walls / on the banisters).
Dad has so many sets of lights.

The area where i live ALOT OF PEOPLE leave thier outside lights up well into March or April and it looks quite nice!

The area is so dull and boring, you look over and see nice coloured lights and ya smile :)

I have a few trees - sad I know. One of them has decorations that I've been brough back as presents from abroad. The Lights are two sets of good old Pifcos one white and one coloured. The coloured set has a huge star which lights up.
My late father bought me a glass tree which I minded like a baby until my clod hopping o/h managed to knock it off the top of my bookcase and smash it. So if any of you folks spot a tree about 15 inches high made up of different sized baubles with gold tinsel in the centre for sale please let me know :)

Christmas lights have to be tacky and tasteless.

Having every second one not working is always a plus too. Then you get to stuff tinfoil into bulb sockets until they work.

Nothing says Christmas like a house fire!

    Wahey! That's my mum's tree I posted! :D

I'm a fan of them all, it totally depends on where the lights are going. That tree above, my mum keeps in the 'nice' living room, and everything is coordinated. However, in the family room, the tree is covered in lights and decorations of every colour. I just love sitting in the dark with all the coloured lights glowing :o I just got a surge of nostalgia and Christmas love/warmth there! :D

I proposed an 80s-tastic tree this year to the missus, but she may take some convincing :(

I want a big bushy tree with coloured lights, coloured tinsel, crackers, and balloons! With 'Do They Know It's Christmas' on loop :)

I prefer clear lights and subtle decorations and I will spend ages making sure the lights and dec are perfectly placed and evenly spaced (ah it rhymes!) and carefully place presents underneath it (any irregular shaped objects hidden at back) so it looks just perfect.

Then I go home (home home!) and see the tree my little brother put up...Coloured lights, stringy gold stuff like a hula skirt and tinsel galore!
Presents strewn underneath just piled on top of each other. A complete mish-mash of colours...Tack city...
And it's gorgeous! It's fun and festive and I can't help but smile around it cos it's done by my little brother who's eagerly awaiting Santy and full of excitement and expectations and his tree wins handsdown!:D
