Can anyone tell me how long your GUI membership is valid for if you do not re-join a golf club.

Your GUI membership is only valid while you are a current member of a GUI club. Let your membership expire and you have no right to use your GUI handicap anywhere.

Most clubs update their systems around Sept/Oct time when former members who haven't paid their subs are wiped from the members database and their handicaps are then removed from golfnet, etc.

If you're no longer a member, your handicap isn't valid.
If you re-join a club within 6 months you can reinstate your old handicap but after that you have to get a new handicap so hand in 3 cards etc.
