Boiler not heating radiators

I have a sealed system. The problem seems to be that the boiler is coming on and once it gets to 65 degrees it turns off, however no radiators are heating. I went around and bled all radiators last night and eventually they got hot. I went out this morning and it seems the boiler pressure relief valve exploded. I have tried to turn the boiler on today and it will not even turn on. I have tried to bleed the radiators again and nothing is happening. The hot water seems to be affected as well. When I went to bleed the radiators, some of them seemed to have no water in them, others did.

Any ideas what it could be?

What happened was an airlock built up, or was not properly vented from the system, and when you vented the rads, the air was expelled, but the pressure dropped as a result. The low pressure/ air left behind would have caused an air pocket at the top of the boiler, and when fired would have turned to steam, and lifted the safty valve. The high limit stap probally tripped, and thats why the boiler wont fire. Get a good plumber top fully vent the system, check the boiler, and all should be ok, and get him to explain how to top the pressure when periodically venting the rads, and dont leave the filling loop open!

You must have a problem with your system for this to happen in the first place. You say you have a sealed system, an airlock would not just appear out of no where in the system unless you have a leak or some one was working on the system and never vented it properly. Also when you get this sorted if you find you are topping up and venting rads this would also indicate a problem with the system. A sealed system should never need topping up or venting when initially filled unless there is a leak or alterations. If you are periodically topping up and venting you are introducing fresh water into your system and causing corrosion and a build up of sludge which will block up radiators and heat exchangers reducing the life of your system.
