I don’t care if some wannabe mod points out that there is already a thread about this, I’m sick of F5 that page for info.....

    Anyhow let the rant begin.....

The lack of information on the iphone4 for Irish customer is a disgrace...

The mobile providers O2, vodafone, & 3 are tight lipped with their price range for what????

I don’t buy all this, there waiting for the other to release there price plan bollix.

I went into 3 in Grafton Street and they reserved one for me... great

I’m with meteor and want to say there so I’m all for a sim free phone

I don’t want to go on bill but if I needs to I will, cause I know meteor won’t be getting the iphone any time soon cause there complete and utter tools.

Why are apple be complete and utter ****s about giving us info about the phone?

A week ago they should of had at least some price details from the apple site .

The phone is out a month, theres nothing to hide.btw they did a **** job of that leaving proto type iphones in bars :D

I would fully understand if the phone was been released simultaneously worldwide on Friday , i could understand apple embargoing there information from there revivals.

I get the impression like the ipad that it won’t be available on line for some time

I don’t even have an iphone4 yet , i hate. But still want one!!!

    Rant over, that felt good.

i got mine in Belfast Sim Free. i knew there would be release problems with the Irish networks.

Meteor will not be stocking the iPhone as they couldnt agree terms and conditions with Apple.

As far as I know there's been no release problems as far as Ireland is concerned, bar the massive demand (that will no doubt outweigh supply). It's been out a month in select countries and most other places at the end of this month. The problems with the white iPhone 4 are worldwide.

But I agree, the networks should have info on the prices by now. Even so, no matter what they charge, sheep :D people are going to buy one so it's irrelevant I reckon!

there are no stock available in Belfast to the general public, only reservation lists, i would call that a release problem :D

theres rumours that each network will only receive 1000 IP4 units down here for Friday and the lack of pricing available shows to me that the networks are not ready for it.

Trust me, they're ready. Pricing normally doesn't come out until a phone's released anyway, does it not? (I am asking).

The fact they can't get enough isn't the networks fault. Those lazy Chinese folk in Shenz..wherever aren't working hard enough! :D

IIRC they had pricing available well before launch day last year and the year before. maybe they are just adding to the suspence!

but this year is different, last year we only has O2, now we have Vodafone and 3 so you'd think they would be shouting from the roof tops to attract iPhones users to their network.

anyway, i have an IP4, there not that good..............................................

aghh who am i kidding, there bloody great :D:D:D:D:D:D

Although apple only have themselves to blame for the circus that surrounds the release of their products - I don't imagine there are many threads complaining about the lack of information available on the latest nokia or htc phone releases

It's being released on Friday - that's when you'll get your prices and info, anything earlier than that is a bonus.

Get over it you're going to buy one anyway regardless

Providers in Ireland are still trying to flog iphone 3Gs (they ahve stocks) so they are not going to promote the 4 version just yet.

Anyway with the reception issues you are better to wait for the version 5 (8mega pixcel camera and flash)

Anyone know how far down the reserve list the Belfast store has gotten? last I saw they were up to the 2nd

Have to ask what are the terms and conditions that meteor will not agree to?

Also what really annoying me about the new iphone is the use of the micro Sims its being different for the sake of it and a attempt to prevent people buying the phone on one network and moving it to another.

An attempt that is failing but still its a pain in the ass, even tho some of the networks are stocking the sims for the ipad the plans that come with them do not include talk time.

The Micro SIM in no way prevents you moving network. I'm sure they will all happily provide you with a relevant one for the iPhone 4 if you want to move. Most (all?) already do. You can remove the tin foil hat. It saves space and it has some other features over the Mini SIM. I'm sure more phones will start to use it too. Someone has to be first, just like someone had to be first moving from the full credit card sized SIM to the Mini SIM.

Stevie J said the micro-sim was used so that they could fit more stuff in. If you've read dissection reports you'll know that the iPhone 4 wastes the least amount of space of any smartphone ever.

they dont have much stock, i had a 32gb 3Gs for sale up until the weekend and i could of sold it 3 times over, everyperson that contacte me to buy it were saying thet none of the shops had 3Gs left and they were trying to get them into the 8GB 3Gs. sold it through adverts btw.

in regards to the reception issue, i thought it was an issue until i got one. unless you have an IP4 then im afraid you cannot comment on the reception issue. i had the perfect example -

on my sofa in my finglas/meakstown based house i could only get one bar, sometimes 2 on my 3Gs on the meteor network. this is well documented in my posts on the Meteor forum.

with my IP4 i now get3-4 bars and quite noticably more 3G time on it in the same position. i have tried the death grip on the phone and it drops one bar but then after 2 seconds, goes back up the one, it really is a non issue that was over hyped by the apple haters in my opinion.

we dont know, thats all the mods would tell us on the Meteor forum. the specifically outline they have no plans to launch the iPhone anytime within the foreseeable future.

Micro sims are available across all the networks currently, phone, voice and data are available. meteor have them in stock for new connections and will have blank generic sims for sim transfers this Friday. its not that big a deal to swap networks between micro and mini sims.

The operators are keeping their cards close to their chest. Makes sense to me as they dont want to be under cut by a rival.

Oh, and its just a phone so no need to get obsessive. It will be out when its out. Its like when you were a child Christmas came a lot quicker if you just forgot about it! :)

That's exactly what they are doing, this is the first time an iPhone has been released here on 3 major networks, of course they will play their cards close to their chest. if o2 came out with prices as soon as they could, vodafone would just under cut them by a small amount ergo pilfering customers. ditto with 3 and vodafone.
I went into 3 in Grafton Street and they reserved one for me... great

    different territories, different attack plans

believe you me, they are churning them out as fast as they can. supply really is that low. 3 million ipad's in 90 days, 3 million iphone 4's in 1 day. it's not rocket science, there's only so much they can do.
I don’t even have an iphone4 yet , i hate. But still want one!!!

All the networks will be doing talk ant text micro sims once the iphone 4 is released

One of my friends is a manager and thats all he knows so they really are letting nothing slip. Here is what he told me.

    Price plans announced wed
Iphones arrive in the store Thursday
    Iphones go on sale Friday

I would think 3 will try and be as competitive as possible as now is a real chance to get a lot of new users

The 5 will not have 8mp camera, no chance. Jobs concentrated on pixel size and light refraction in his keynote. The number is not what Apple are interested in.

Please read this carefully: No. Apple. Media. Device. Will. Ever. Have. Flash. Compatability.

Main things I would expect in a 5 would be wireless hotspotting (huge with the iPad's popularity) and maybe 4G. Definately 3G facetiming though.

Website developers are already jumping on the HTML5 bandwagon and it works great. Check out the mobile versions of YouTube and Paddy Power to name but a few.
