Got a letter today from a VEC that I had an interview with. There were two positions available and I got third on the panel... I was just wondering if anyone knows the chances of actually getting the position, has anyone ever got work from a situation like this?

If one of those people pulls out of one of the positions or if an identical one becomes available, you will get the job.

I went for a teaching position for my subjects with a VEC and didn't get the job as there was someone already in the position. I got 1st on the panel, so when the same subjects came up a few months later with the same VEC, I got offered the job.

it depends on the contacts the other two have. The VEC take an eternity to get back to you.

    Fixed that for you!

OP, it's no harm to keep an eye on the website/newspaper. What I forgot to mention was that the VEC actually advertised for my subjects and I had to ring them to remind them I was next on the panel! Efficiency is not their strongest point:rolleyes:
