Looking to pick up some insurance with my new iPhone this weekend.

Wondering generally who offers the best deal in terms of cover and also price?

Well, I'm not sure about the competition but I was planning to take up Vodafone insurance, which is 9.99E per month: http://www.vodafone.ie/mobilephoneservices/insurance/ (stay mobile insurance plus) as that's the only protection plan they offer for the iPhone.

I feel getting insurance for the iPhone is a must, considering the devices are very fragile and a past iDevice of mine had gone through a washing machine cycle.

120 a year, pretty steep! Was hoping for something in the 80-100 bracket.

Does the Vodafone insurance include water damage? My 3GS unfortunately met an untimely end when it fell into the sea (fml!) and I swore I'd get insurance for the 4th gen phone.

I would presume so, as It states on the insurance page that it is responcible for Accidental damage and doesn't list water damage as something that isn't covered.

wait!! before you pay the steep vodafone €10 per month!
I heard on the radio that you can cover your iphone on your house insurance for something like a tenner for the whole year - apparently axa allow it in personal items.

I had my 3GS on the house insurance. When it got water damaged and I rang them up, they didn't want to know! Only covered theft they said

That's why I want to get a policy which covers all bases within reason. :)

You can only get insurance from the company where you buy your phone.
