    Another excellent day out

Numbers down a bit but then again it's holiday time.

Some excellent shooting & scores, not mine unfortunately

Few "new" faces to the VCRAI shoots............welcome and please come again

    Banter was as usual "manly"

Range operators were as usual welcoming & helpful even supplied sand and helped fill the sandbags again

Thanks to all, especially Mick, who seems to be the driving force behind the admin side of the shoots.

    Weather held up

Personally, I think the new format whereby there are two classifications is a much fairer system for scoring. Only thing is I reckon we need an "ISSF'y shooter" classification also :p:D

The course of fire was good except that 20 rounds in one go at 300 rather heats up my Enfield

Only critism I have is some lads seem very reluctant to do butt (and I mean the hole in the ground type :p ) duty once they have finished firing Looking for lads to do the butts delayed the event considerably at times IMO.

For the future, I suggest, that once a detail fires that they then become the butt party and vice versa the butt party become the firing party? NO shirking allowed !

    Got an FN?

THAT's a service rifle as well as being 'vintage' and 'classic'.

Mind you, you'll be at a real disadvantage when the rest of the shooters go back to 600yds with their No4's.

    EN G3 :P

The biggest pronlem for it at 600 yards is that the standard sights on it only go to 400 meters :P

Y'see, that's what you get for buying the cheap ol' metric version. The Brits' version is sighted up to 600 yards.

You'd be truly amazed how easy it is to miss at that range...I used to have great lack of success with mine.

I wish with all my heart I could have similar lack of success these days with one - I surely do miss that gun, and the IMBEL versions are just not the same.
