    ....hmmmm....

I'll start by saying I thought last week's episode was way better: but that could probably be because I was hungover watching this one...

    Best Bits:

Tara bashing Franklin's head in (I would have just chopped it off myself - he might still come back, albeit with a bad headache)

Tara & Sookie beating up Patrick Swayze's brother

Tara basically turning into the kick ass girl she should have been all along

    Lorena FINALLY biting Sookie!

Bill's stupidity at taking on Russell.

The Queen - who'd have thought royalty would do scratch cards!

    Not So Bad Bits:

Jessica using her powers for good(ish), Arlene being complicit in the whole Jessica feeding.

The backstory on Sam's mother eventhough she's just guilt tripping Tommy

LaFayette & Jesus - until it all went wrong.

    The Rest

You'd never want to send Eric out to the shop for something - he'll turn up three weeks late! Pam must be taken apart by the Magister by now!!!

Kinda bored with Sookie getting so indignant with Eric - she's always viewed him as a bad guy, why get so annoyed with him now? I know he told her some things but... She should have gotten annoyed at Bill when Russell showed her his research on her & questioned Bill's motives.

Eric's pacing was fairly annoying too. He just came across kind of like he was still deciding what to do about Sookie/Pam/revenge/the Queen - not his usual decisive self. And then all his less than subtle flirting with Russell and Talbot: start killing already!!!

Lorena & Bill - yawn!!! She's psycho in a non-funny way. He's clearly not worth the effort. Kill him Lorena and find someone like Franklin who will be far more fun going on murderous rampages with!

Jason & Crystal/Jason & the quarter back - I have to say these story lines have zero interest for me.

Next week looks like there's even more action so that should be good.

Please don't let Franklin be dead!!!! We need more screen time with him.

Another great episode! I hope Franklin doesn't die! He was hilarious. What about Pam, Eric???? He seems to have forgotten her.
Can't wait to see next weeks episode. I wonder if the King and Queen will have a big wedding lol

Franklin getting his head bashed in was a fantastic scene...
I like where the Sam & his family storyline is going at the moment...
The scenes with Jessica & Arlene were great...
I think there's more to Krystal than meets the eye, so hopefully that storyline will pick up...
The only storyline I don't really give a damn about at the moment is Lafayette and Jesus, but maybe it might get better over the next few episodes...

    So much blood.
Anyone else find it strange that the girl called Crystal is engaged to a meth dealer?
I thought when Eric told Sookie to shut up and then muffled her with his hand and said thanks was very funny.

    Another good episode!
The queen trying her luck with the scratch cards was one of my favourite bits too haha.
Jessica seems to be getting really good at hypnotising people haha poor Arlene getting no tips.
Tara is great at the aul breaking out. Poor Franklin though, hope he is not dead .. although he will be so mad with her haha.
Poor LaFayette he can't catch a break.

That was easily one of the best scenes in the episode - wish Eric had done it much earlier, especially for the first few episodes when Sookie was doing nothing but whining about Bill missing...

I don't think Franklin is dead. He didn't turn into a pool of goo like other vampires when they are killed (including the bodyguard Bill killed in this episode). Tara should have used the axe that was on the wall instead, but she's not exactly the brightest character.

So the king's plan is to take over the world? Cool :), the show needs a mustache-twirling supervillain with world-domination plans...

Jason's storyline is becoming increasingly weaker. I just don't care. He seems to be becoming Andy though. The quarterback is a younger version of Jason and Jason's line about something being wrong with him and he was going to find out what was almost word-for-word what Andy had said to Jason in season 1, when he was suspected of the various murders.

Sam's story is also boring me. It's pretty obvious what is going now, which I suspected a couple of episodes back based on Tommy's scars and last episode's claim of ownership by his loser dad... Big deal, who really cares?

I enjoyed the episode again but almost feel like there are too many story lines at the moment so we jump around a bit too much

Jason's story will pick up, having read the books I know whats the back story on Crystal.

You know, this is one show you can always rely on. I'm enjoying each episode more and more.

Eric is clearly torn in that he wants to save Pam, he's playing down his affection for Sookie because he doesn't want the King to think he cares and he wants to kill the King for murdering his parents. There's a lot going on in that poor vampire’s brain!!

I think I'm done with Bill now; I almost wanted Lorena to actually kill him!

The scenes with Tara and Franklin were just disturbing but I was totally engrossed in it. Great to see Tara back to how she was originally. About time! I don't think Franklin is dead either she didn't stake him or decapitate him!!

I can't stand the Queen. They have totally mis-cast her with Evan Rachel Wood. The reason that we see The Queen playing Yatzee and Scratching Cards is because she's supposed to be a teenager. Evan Rachel Wood is too old to play her and therefore that childish essence doesn't come across.

I'm also not bothered too much about Sam and Jason's storyline even though I know where Jason's one is going. It's like every time they cut to those scenes I'm counting down the time until they are back to the main story.

Jessica and Arlene together are very funny!

I took it that she is broke & she is trying to win money...

Were they not saying that the IRS has practically caused her to go broke and that the reason she is getting Eric to sell the V is part of her crazy money raising scheme?

I think that a teenager would be impossible to cast in that role because there are a lot of adult themes in the TV show and also, for the obvious reason that when they start growing up you'll have the question "Why is the vampire ageing?"
Not to go into anything spoilerish, but since you have read the books, her relationship with Hadley would be impossible to portray without total outrage coming from some group or other.

Another good episode but I think there going a bit OTT with the blood and gore, and for a show with so many stories going on at once it's doing a great job, the only questionable ones at the moment are Jesus and Lafayette and the Jason story. But coming together great with the King and Eric's back story.

I'm finding it much better than season 2 and the 57 minutes fly by

I think these might tie in together. Wasn't the guy who LaFayette beat up in the last episode the same guy who opened the door when Jason went to Crystal's house?

I think it was,the guy had bruises and cuts all over his face when he answered the door.

Yeah - these were the guys LaFayette was trying to distribute V to but they refused and then Eric stepped in and kicked their asses on LaFayette's behalf so they have a bit of an issue with our favourite dealer...

I don't know if Jesus ties in anywhere tbh... I thought he might have something to do with the King because of the portrait but if he did have a hidden story surely we'd have seen something by now??? Maybe he is just a love interest to keep LaFayette on our screens since so much is happening down in Jackson.

Does anyone else think Crystal is a werewolf?

    loving this season so far

classic when Eric covered Sookie's mouth :D i'm liking the main story but i'm finding the sub plots to be a bit boring tbh. the jason and lafeyette plots are a bit boring imo. hilarious though when tara ploughed franklin's head with the mace :D glad to see all her feistiness hasn't died though i doubt franklin's dead. he'll be able to sense her now with his blood in tara.

Yep, that's plausible, but her Yatzee playing in the last Season was to show her as a little more immature.

Oh I wasn't suggesting they cast a teenager, lol. I was saying they could have cast someone who portrayed a teenager much better than Evan Rachel Wood and that wouldn't have been that hard.

Was thinking that, especially with the whole "You feel really hot" thing with Jason in the forest.

If she is it might tie back with Sam and the dog fighting ring

    Very good episode!
Seem to be going at a very fast pace with all the different storylines struggling to fit in an episode.

When tara was bashing franklin's head in I thought whoa pretty graphical

did you see crystal's fiancé's face with all the bruises I wonder what's the story there

I really thought that was patrick swayze when I first saw him
    can't wait for next week

Anyone know the name of the song at the end credits?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,114 ✭✭✭doctor evil

I enjoyed this eipsode, Tara is becoming a lot more assertive, more how she was at the start. I thought the promo for the next episode gave away too much towards the end.

Does anyone else think Arlene (red head waitress, name maybe wrong) could become an older sister figure to the new redhead vampire? (can't think of her name)

As far as i know the name of each episode is the name of the song played at the end credits. So it would be 'I got a right to sing the blues'.

Good episode. Tara was pretty kick ass in this one. I also hope that Franklin isn't dead as he didn't turn to much. It will take a bit of time to heal that wound.

I'm getting a little annoyed that they are starting each episode a few minutes after the cliff hanger of the previous and we don't see what happens to get them out of the situation. I can't recall them doing that a lot before. I hope they don't do it next week and we see how Sookie gets away from Lorena.

Loved this episode , one of the best ones ever :)
I doubt Franklin is dead though ,

I hope they focus more on Sookie's power and she learns how to use it! Last time she used it was when Mary-Anne had her pinned against the wall in Season 2 - I cannot wait another season for her to use it!!

Acting wise , that scene in the outhouse with Lorena and Bill was aboslutely incredible acting. Lorena really outdid herself in this episode , and The Queen was great as always.

I don't think Franklin is dead either since he didn't turn into mush. That scene was fairly gruesome though.

I think Jesus looks like a bit like Jonathan Rhys Meyers. I hope his story goes somewhere but I've a filling it might just be a filler.
