Any advice on holidaying in South West England?
Thinking of getting the ferry from Dublin / DunLaoighre and driving down.
Any tips on what to do / see would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    R

I spent a week there earlier in the summer, first time down that direction and loved it.

I have a 16 month old so we broke up the drive down and stayed in Bristol over night after driving to holyhead and in chester on the way back.

We rented a cottage just inside Cornwall (saltash) which had some great facilities for the kids, pub, food up the road and use of a country club and leisure centre.

The whole area is prime for exploring, lovely beaches, villages, walks, vallys, rivers .. everything.

The one must see is the Eden Project, we spent a full day there and I would have spent more if I didn't have the baby with me.

Having your own car is a god send gives you plenty of options.

The West Country, Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset, & Gloucestershire > Where to start? soooo many beautiful places, soooo many fantastic places, soo much history & culture, far too many places to list here, but you might start with the beautiful City of Bath, and then . . . . . .

Its a big area, with so much to offer . Enjoy :)

Ferry = Dun Laoghaire - Holyhead or Rosslare - Fishguard (recommended), longer sea crossing but easier drive.
