So this girl and I have been travelling in the same circles for years. She dated my bestfriend for a bit but it was rather minor. My friends dislike her and her friends dislike me. This would appear to be the main issue.

We've eh gotten together in the last few days and its been good. We're both kinda mental so its nice to have a companion in various misdemeanors and mayhem. This could also be a double edged sword in the fact that the last thing we, or atleast I, need is someone suggesting or agreeing to go pub at 11a.m after previously drinking heavily the night before. Toxic.

Now for the positives. We've the exact same personality and background. We communicate on a different level to everyone else and it really is like a dream. A surreal dream were you've met your clone.

As I mentioned we've 'eh gotten together'... but because of the above issues and our personality we've decided not to but a label on anything, be exclusive or tell anyone.

We've our third proper date coming up.. and I must say i'm utterly confuddled.

    Opinions?.. please?

Worst idea ever or Romeo and Juliet?

When you're a Jet, you're a Jet all the way, eh?!

To be honest, OP, I don't see what the issue is here. Clearly you both like each other. Your friends don't get on, but they're not involved in your relationship. If they cant be happy for you if you're happy, then they're not really what I'd call friends.

As for the issue about your behavior. I'm not really sure what you mean by 'misdemeanors and mayhem.' If you're talking about breaking the law, well then I'd be more concerned about why you'd want to do that, and the consequences of these actions than the fact that your girlfriend(?) is into it too. If it's just larking about and getting pissed together, well then, you're both into it. Just enjoy it for what it is, and stop trying to put a label on it.

    Have fun, I guess!

Just realise that both of you will probably never get to meet up with your friends as a couple if both groups dislike you. Don't attempt to force your friends to like your girlfriend, its a recipe for disaster. Otherwise whats holding you back?

Well, if her friends and your friends are any sort of friends, they'll be delighted for both of you that you've met someone and are making a go of it. Over time too as they all get to know the pair of you better, their opinions might change. If they don't then that's their problem and they've got to deal with that.

Ultimately as long as you both are on the same page and make each other happy, that's all that matters. At the end of the day, if your friends care enough about you, they'll be delighted to see you happy and, even if they're not your girlfriend's biggest fans, at least they'll be delighted that she's good for you. So, just go for it!

The third date coming up and theres a history of "misdemeanors and mayhem" which just means (as said above) larking about not actually illegality.
I think the above posters are dwelling on the romance and the dream which sound fantastic and likely are but please consider that this could be a drinking buddy situation with kissing more so than a relationship... I guess that worry is the issue...

well that depends if you let that develop. you could try going to the cinema for the next date.. Drink doesnt have to be at the centre of all you do.

    Here's a thought...ask her.

If you're not prepared to do that then you could just see what happens instead of overthinking the whole thing.

i agree with sarahsassy, try a date without any drink and see if you two are still the crazy heads you think.

drink can give you confidence you dont normally have, try and have a conversation or a meal without the booze.

    take it from there.
