Department of Justice Internship

Hi all,

Mulling over whether to take an offer of an internship.

Has anyone done one? If so would you recommend it (in terms of getting valuable work experience etc.)?

Is this the DPP one? If so my friend did it recently, she really liked it, got alot of good experience and it is now paid aswell. 400+ a week I think. Great in terms of networking aswell she said.

No it's within one of the other departments. I'd imagine that they could be of a similar standard though.

Think I may have read your post wrongly. My one isn't paid unfortunately.

Is this internship an either or option, as in is your option between this internship and another one?

It would be excellent on your CV anyways.

It will only be good for your CV... which is very important at the moment as not only are there diminishing opportunities available for graduates, the competition is increasing as people are filling themselves with internships, masters, and so on.

Hi Arsenal 1986,

I was just wondering how your friend went about ascertaining this internship with the DPP, did she apply herself or was the application process presented to her through university? As the last internship application I can see on the DPP's website is from 2009, and that they require your university to nominate you? Do you have any idea on this? Many thanks as this is something I would love to do!

She knew somebody in there and I believe they put her forward for it. Not sure how other ppl go about getting it
