New Electric Oven

    Hi,

I'm in the process of purchasing a new electric oven. The current one I have is an Indesit, and needs replacing (quite old, moved into a 2nd hand home with fitted appliances already installed)
How does this work- do Powercity etc delivery them to your home, and also install? Or do I need to hire an electrician to be in the kitchen ready for the delivery. I see on the website for some of the suppliers that they will take the old appliance away, but it doesn't mention installation.

If anyone knows how this works, I'd really appreciate it! Have the measurements and have researched the type of oven I want, so basically i just need to know how to get it installed into the kitchen. Don't want to start messing around with electrics, I haven't a clue about that stuff.

    thanks a million
    :)

They'll drop and take it away as long as the old one is disconnected. You need to get an electrician to install it for you for insurance reasons. If it isn't fitted by an electrician then the warranty may be cancelled and if fire/damage occurred because of the oven, the insurance wouldn't cover it.Power city's delivery men won't install it as they wouldn't be insured to.

    see above post

d i d also offer it ,25 delivery charge and 40 euros extra to install ,again by unqualified and untrained drivers . difference here is that you are paying the company direct and they must deal with there own 'mishaps' should they arise

playing russian roulette with customers safety imo

    unreal isnt it ?

For the sake of a few euro more I'd definately go for a qualified electrician, saves any hassle in the future.
