ok guys a small bit of advice would be greatly appreciated!
i'm with sky over a year so can cancel my sub and have the free channels and thats cool with me cos tbh never watch tv really in the first place.

this is my problem (and yes i am completely thick before ye ask!)
how am i supposed to find out if i'll have rte 1 and 2 if i do cancel?

when my brother looked at it before he tried to search for them and said i didnt have them that there mustnt be an aerial. bla bla bla all dutch to me

if i just get the bunny ears to put on top of the tv, will that get me the rte channels? i'd totally hate not to have desperate housewives come january,or expose after work, and the likes!!

advice would be greatly appreciated(please try not to get too technical)
oh and if you work in the sky shop in galway dont bother replying!
    thanks guys

yes you can cancel. (the box and dish are yours)

to find out the channels you will have after you cancel just remove the card from the sky box,
un plug from the wall for 30 seconds (ish) plug it in again (Without the sky card)

you will need some sort of aerial for rte,
depending on location (distance from transmitter etc) will determine what size and type will suit.

hope that is as clear as mud for you . :)

You do need an aerial for RTE. One in the attic is better than top of TV.

Any aerial that looks like the 2nd one.

Unless you are in a few areas that have RTE and TG4/TV3 on separate aerials, in which case you need a Y adaptor and the first two aerials.

When you cancel from Sky you wont have RTE1 or RTE2, TV3 or TG4.

You will have to install an aerial (if you dont have one already) to receive these channels.

I dunno if bunny ears would take in a good enough picture, I suppose it depends where your located.
