I have to change two of my tyres 205/60/R16 92h

The spare is brand new but the size on it is 205/55/R16 91h

What do you think ? what do the numbers mean ?

Make sure there 'E' marked aswell.

    Required for NCT.

the 205 is the tyre width
the 60 is the height in relation to width
    i.e. 60% of 205=123
    55% of 205=112.75

So having different sizes is not a good idea.
    Firstly it can effect handing.
    Second it with fail NCT
Third can cause ABS fault and the tyre circumference will be different causing the ABS speed sensor to get different readings.

I had requested the garage concerned ( main dealer ) to swop the doughnut for a standard tyre. are covered as it would probably do for a spare ????

If they fit incorrect size then get them to replace foc.
If they say no then threaten to report them to SIMI as the put potentially
unsafe tyres on your car and see how fast they change them.
Probably just and honest mistake on their part though.

I know what you saying and I have no problem going back even after two years but it is the spare ??
