So i've worked for nearly 3 years in a newsagents near where i live and the female manager used to be nice to me and pally ,but now she makes work miserable i can't stand it anymore she nit picks and has made me cry behind the till infront of a customer twice. I also informed her about a faulty product today and i got the reply " And ..what do you want me to do about it?" im always on edge and wondering when she will talk down to me next.
They've also cut my hours and i'm only on 10 hours a week now which is crazy as im not in college and probley won't be going back till september next year.
Nobody elses hours have been cut and they don't seem to want to help me.
I've been looking for jobs but as you know its hard. If i got my nicer manager to let me go would i be entitled to dole? i'm 18.

Was there an incident that caused you both to fall out?

Sounds like you fell into a bad routine with her.
Yes! Your entitled to the dole. But don't just give up. If your punctual and in any way capable then she wont have a reason to dislike you. Perhaps make sure you are capable and punctual and be more assertive with her.

Then if you two just might discuss your problems.

Could be something up at home and she's taking it out on you?

Or.... they're trying to make your job redundant, she is aware of it, but can't let on? Happens a lot when you're a manager. :-/

Sounds like a case of constructive dismissal to me. They make you quit by imposing restrictions and bullying tactics on you. Now i'm not saying you should just to this conclusion and seek legal action, however it is an option.

I think you need to talk to the manager and air your grievances first. If nothing improves then you can look at your options.

Could be any one of the above, unless you are giving her reason to behave in this manner towards you.
The best thing for you is to do you job well, be on time and don't give her any reason to get at you. Keep a diary (date, time, location and subject) of any past and further occasions where you feel she is bullying you. This could become usefull in the case of an unfair dismissal or discussion with higher management.
But you should show some assertiveness and pluck up the courage and sort it out with her either directly or in-directly, as this should earn you some respect and maybe get her off your back.
    Good Luck.
