NTFS Drive Problem

    I have an NTFS drive connected to my mac now for a while without any issues using NTFS-3G. I added another NTFS drive the other day to back up some data but its showing as read only. I checked the drive permissions on windows and its telling me Read/Write and Modify are enabled.

    Any reason my mac would be throwing back a 'Cannot be Modified' error considering the above?

    Macs are only supposed to be able to read NTFS disks unless you are using some software to get around it.

    Yeah as I said I got NTFS-3G and haven't had any problems with the old HDD, the one I connected recently is having issues as explained above.

    Any idea's?

    If there is a problem with the file system then the NTFS-3G driver won't mount it, so you get the default read only behavior. I've seen this happen in the past and after the file system is repaired it works again. Try connecting the drive to a windows computer and run "chkdsk /f" on it.
