Samsung NC10- HELP!

There's a few problems with my Samsung NC10.

#1- When I turn it on there's no toolbar. How can I get it back?

#2- (These might be in conjunction with the fact that there is no toolbar...)
I can't scroll with the touchpad, very annoying.
#2b- And none of the buttons work when used with "Fn", eg. I can't turn the volume up using "Fn" and the "up arrow".

#3- Every so often the screen turns completely white. I have to move the monitor up and down to get it working again.

#4- Sometimes the laptop refuses to turn off. It completely ignores the command. I have to wait ages and then press shut down again.

Any help with any of the above problems would be great.

Sounds like it's in nearly as bad a state as my own NC10 to be honest.

Might consider recovering the OS and seeing if that helps? The white screen problem is a product fault, if your within warranty Samsung should repair that for you. The function key problem could be a bug or it could be that the function key itself is not working, in which case you can try cleaning under the key or replacing the keyboard (ebay sell them at decent prices).

If none of that works and you'd like to get rid of her I'm looking for spare parts to reanimate my zombie NC10 so i could make you an offer if you fire me a pm.

Fixing the white screen just requires removing the four rubber pads on the screen frame, undoing the screws and lifting the screen. Then reposition the cable at the point where it fans out, until the screen no longer goes white, stick it down with tape and reassemble.

I've been putting off doing mine for ages, but did it a couple of weeks ago.
