Could anyone tell me what the newly qualified jobs market is like with 4 years experience in total, in financials/funds.

I was thinking around the 45-50 mark?

There seems to be a big drop off in the number of roles from 2years ago and everyone wants big4 or insurance experience.

40 would be closer to the mark.

Have you checked out the salary surveys on any agency websites? They usually give a good indicator.
Have a look at some of the specialist websites, like Robert Walters. The IFSC Panel have one up too - 2009 seems to be the most recent, but looks like it was actually published at the start of the year (should be still an accurate reflection of what the market norm is). The salary you can command will depend entirely on your experience & requirement for your particular skill set to an employer, so would never take anything as being the salary you "should" be on.
    Hope these help somewhat.
