Have you made sure that when you are syncing that you have selected what you want to sync.

Just go to summary and make sure it is selected.

You can only synch from one machine, it's to do with file sharing and copyright laws.... Think about it I have a 64gb iPad full of music and movies and if I could walk into one of my mates and transfer all my content onto his machine he would be getting thousands of euro of free music/movies and screwing the rights holders.

A single iTunes account can have a max of 5 computers registered (Authorized) to it (iPhones, iPods, etc then sync via this account) In order to synch successfully, a user needs to authorise all the computers they want to share music, movies, podcasts, etc. and then set the preferences for what's to be synch'ed each way.

For audio books you may need to enable / de-authorize an Audible account using your Apple or AOL account ...

Like all Apple stuff, it's usually very simple, just RTFM ;)

Open Help in iTunes and search for "Authorize" ...
