Wow, it took them a long time but finally they produce the answers*.
I always had faith in the writers and knew they wouldn't let us down.

    *May not be true. :pac:

"The New Man in Charge" is an 11-minute epilogue that details the events that take place on the island between Hurley and Ben after the finale.

It will feature on both the season 6 dvd and the complete collection.

Although it gave us answers we already knew or guessed at, I thought it was a nice little nod to Walt and its interesting to note his 'job' on the island was left a little vague.

But in the end we mustn't forget it is afterall a DVD extra. If you weren't satisfied by the finale, this is hardly going to change that.

I was gonna start a new thread on the synopsis having watched it earlier tonight. The part i have bolded there because i dont think it was vague at all, hurley obviously has walt in mind for his replacement but i think that from the clip it would be a good while before that happened so maybe walt was to be his apprentice of sorts. I guess this kills some peoples theories that the island "stopped" after ben and hurley

Having said that am i the only one who feels this was a sloppily put together "tie the loose end of walt up" job?

I laughed at the warehouse dudes though, "you have to tell us more" what a not so subtle jab at us :)

I thought it was good for what it was. Not outstanding by any means, but I liked the way they gave some closure to Walt's character. The Dharma answers were satisfactory, though it seems a bit of a stretch that two people continued to get paid from a defunct company for nearly two decades. Overall I was quite pleased with it.

Regarding Walt's 'job' I assumed it was something to do with his abilities. (Freeing Michael and the other ghosts to move on maybe?). Never really thought it was to do with him being the next protector, afterall Hurley is only in the job three years at this point.

Just watched this myself, was interesting - probably better then the cr*p finale to be honest !

Was just thinking after it that there is no way this is the end of the LOST universe on TV - too much money to be made, I'm sure in 10-15 years a "next gen" LOST will be made , - won't be the same cast obviously and maybe set in the future or past - also probably won't be called LOST ;)

    whatya think ?

Or is there a legal closure to the whole LOST saga ??

that would be a really cool idea.
it wouldnt be a stitch on what came before it though.

    As for the new man in charge;
I liked it. It was a nice extra. I liked the finale because i pushed everything out of my head in the way of expectation, therefore when the final titlecard popped up i remember feeling "thats it, thats most definitely the last time i will ever see those characters again, know what happened with hurley and ben etc". But i was ok with not knowing.

So the epilogue was cool in the way that even if it was only for a few minutes, to leave the idea that walt, ben and hurley are still out there changing the rules, it was a bit of a sweet feeling. :)
