Premier Sports is going pay tv probably next month. They haven't set a date yet according to the premiersports.tv website and the channel will be FTA until the end of July. I for one won't be subscribing as I only watch GAA matches and the stations picture quality is only awful. The subscription price is 6.99 per month for domestic customers. I cannot see them making a real success of it here in Ireland. RTE and TV3 cover the matches and Saorview launches to the majority of the country via DTT on October 31 :D

Their rep came on boards a few weeks ago trying to defend the charge. He was more or less told to go back where he came from:D:D:D

The picture quality is dire. They would really want to sort that out before charging for their channel.

ya it was a real shame and a really silly on their behalf using such a bad transmission ration..even as a test as if they want people to subscribe then surely showing what people can expect if they do subscibe would be a better practice..

Compared to my RTE2/TV3 analogue both GAA matches today were actually better quality on Premiersports (I don't have RTE/TV3 on satellite) than on analogue and they were widescreen.

I wouldn't pay them 25 cents per week let alone 6.99 per month. The cheek of them and we are in probably the worst recession in our history. Aren't Aussie rules matches still being shown on TG4? I can't see the sense in them changing to pay tv. Who will subscribe to the channel when there will be crystal clear FTA digital terrestrial tv available from Halloween? I don't know where there thinking and marketing strategies or ideas are coming from. Sounds like the charade of when a search for a commercial provider for DTT was sought and failed miserably like most of us knew years in advance as it was and is never viable with all the FTA satellite choices available. Will they ever learn? :D

As your location says Dublin you wouldn't be able to subscribe even if you wanted to.

Your analogue must be terrible so.

Its not on the Irish epg on Sky.so nobody here will be subscribing anyway, makes all the complaints here irrelevant. Its aimed at the UK market-expats from here will be happy to get live GAA coverage so I reckon thats what the channel owners are counting on.

    Wrong frequency, it's 11680, V, 27500, 2/3.

If you don't want the hassle of tuning it in just power off your box from the electricity source for a minute then take your viewing card out an power it back up.

You then have your UK channel lists with MSK Premier sports.

The UK list stays on the box until whenever you reinsert the Irish viewing card.

Funny that. Its coming in at the other one for me. Maybe its because I have it on the Freesat from Sky card.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass but there's no way you can be getting it on that transponder, what type of set-up do you have?

I don't see MSK on that frequency. Only on the frequency posted by denis1501

No offence taken at all. You are correct. Dont know what I'm reading when I scan:D:D:D. As for my system, when I got Sky+ 2/3 yrs ago, I got a Freesat from Sky card for the old sky box. Am getting MSK on that card as Ch 433. I note tonight that they are running a ticker saying they are going suscription & to log on to their websie for details.

Its not intended for Irish customers at all. Its essentially a backdoor way for Setanta to get back into the UK with a much reduced line-up.

Premier Sports are showing NRL not Aussie rules.

Picture quality has improved in my opinion.

I never watched it much apart from the GAA in bits as I have crystal clear Irish DTT. Thanks, for correcting it. :)

Yes, but I am sure that there are ways of subscribing and watching it here if anyone would be interested just like FTV Sky. :D Why did their Rep come on Boards weeks ago if they weren't intending on having Irish subscribers?

I am sure that there are people here not from this country. Boards.ie is not exclusively for Irish people.
