I liked it. Pretty depressing though. Nice soundtrack. Used to always be on sky movies late at night!

do you think it was an accurate representation of the
problem of suicide in Ireland?.......nd did you think
it was a happy or sad ending?

I don't know much about the problem of suicide in Ireland, so I couldn't really say whether or not it was accurate, but it was a fictional movie which didn't seem to be going for much realism, so I can't imagine it was that accurate.

I thought it was a happy ending. Was that not the point?

Is this for an essay or something?

Couldn't tell you how accurate it was but didn't think it seemed all that realistic tbh. Was a good movie but definitley not what you'd call gritty realism.

why didnt you think it was realistic?
most of the warning signs of suicidal behavior are substance abuse and
    erratic dangerous behavior...ie.Cillian Murphy's character.

You can't say it was **** because it was unsuccessful... Look at Donnie Darko for example.

The film was too light hearted, too slight for a movie about suicide i thought, it was funny in places and it had the trendy soundtrack at the time. It was grand but it lacked any real impact.

I saw this on rte last year and I couldn't watch the end of it, twas appalling! Like the director threw in all these great songs at every bloody opportunity to conceal the thin, clichéd plot. awful awful awful!!

Report me all you want. That movie was made for the American market and it flopped. Lots of Yank bands on the soundtrack. Even Jim Sheridan predicted it would win an Oscar FFS :D

Smashing Pumpkins, Frank Black, Burl Ives, who else? More English bands on it than American to be fair. Didn't know it was made for the American market!

I thought 'On The Edge' was a cracking little film..

.. nothing particularly new but it had a strong enough script and decent performances.

    You could do must worse!

the rebellious rock soundtrack, boy meets f*cked up girl, etc. we've seen it before and it wasn't portrayed any differently in this film, by the book, just in an irish setting. that's how i felt.
