    Of course you can be dismised for going directly against the directive of the management; esp. if you are stupid enough and leave a paper trail a mile wide by using company e-mail address to do so.

    What an idiot! Of course he can be laid off for this.

    Not that it makes any difference. The redundancy package wouldn't have affected him because he was there less than a year, and he would have few rights under employment law even for unfair dismissal.
