I am currently availing of the services of a solicitor. A couple of people have alledged that the solicitor was struck off several months ago. Is there anyway of checking if this is the case? Is there an online search that I can carry out?

Ring the Law Society and ask them.

OP - ring the Law Society and do not be influenced by that web site one way or the other - entertaining it may be but accurate it most certainly is not. As one moderator on this forum recently commented : '' only an idiot would rely on what they read on that site ''.

He wouldn't be practising if he has been struck off but your solicitor could be in the process of being struck off as it takes an age. I don't know if the law society will comment on ongoing proceedings. My ex solicitor took about 3 years to be struck off.

    Don't trust that site.

I looked a solicitor I'd consider the best family law solicitor in Limerick, and while the reviews are generally as I'd expect, you can see a few cranks have taken his average down with nonsense comments. All it takes is one crank with time on his hands to post up loads of nonsense about a solicitor on that site.
