What is the best way to get started? Would like to do a course/meet other people/start a new hobby.

    Thanks.

For river kayaking as far as I know Phoenix Kayak Club would be the main crowd in the Cork area (think a few members frequent the forum). For Sea Kayaking I would recommend going to see Jim Kennedy at Atlantic Sea Kayaking. Top bloke who comes highly recommended.
