Parking around Croker

Heading up to the games later today. Got the train up for both Louth's matches in HQ this year but have to drive today. Have been told that the parking situation around Croker ain't great this year and that there are more restrictions in place than in other years.

Can anyone advise on somewhere to park (don't mind paying). Would I be better off parking a bus-journey away from ground?

Being Saturday means that all street parking in the general area will have pay and display in operation.

where as on a Sunday certain roads in Drumcondra are free to park
meaning you if you got there in reasonable time you could head to croker and not have to worry about getting a nasty clamp when you return !

As far as i know 3 hours is the maximum time you can pay for street parking so not really a goer.
I know from a few years ago there was a car park in an industrial estate off the Richmond road it was a €10 for the day not sure if it still operates
    someone else may know.

You could always as you said park in Whitehall or Swords and hop and a bus they are fairly regular.

Park in the car park beside Whitehall church at the end of the M1 and get a bus down to Croker.

Thanks thatsnotmyname and dcr22b, I think I'll go with that option. Bringing the kids so will head up early and take in the first match as well..

You could also park in Clontarf Road DART station. €2 does you for the whole day. It's a good idea if you're tickets are for the Cusack Stand but its still a bit of a hike if you have kids.

dont park in clonliffe college anyway.i always get a lift in with my dad and he started going in there this year.it was fine for the laois and dublin games because we left at half time in the second game.but it was a disaster for the leinster final.took over an hour to get out and when we got up to the road the gardai had decided to leave the traffic to fend for itself and wasnt directing it out.id echo the whitehall church call or even if its full go in and park in the outdoor car park at omni it doesnt be shut and the bus is right across the road from it.

Whatever you do, make sure that you don't park where you need a parking ticket. Clampers have a feast when people come up, abandon the car and go to the match without checking the signs.

Live near Croker and i've warned people who i see doing that but they don't listen and get clamped. Clampers drive around all day on match days as its easy money. Griffith Avenue is a good spot too, just check where you park.
