VW Transporter T5 suspension problem

I have a 2005 2.5 automatic transporter. When doing around 60-70 mph the van shudders when i apply the breaks. Could the wheels go out of balance? Has anybody had similar problems? Also when driving there seems to be a very slight knocking coming from front suspension like a bushing is worn. It can't be heard, only felt through steering wheel. Would anybody know where to look. I did jack it up and checked for play on the front wheel just by pushing the wheel back and forth on its hub, no play found.

The knock could just be drop link or anti-roll bushes.

The shudder sounds like you might have a warped brake disc.

    I agree with the above.
