Not looking for a ROG debate either but you could have included this piece which accompanied the video post on rugby.dump:

A while back someone suggested that we make a compilation video featuring flyhalf Ronan O’Gara’s defensive fluffs over the years. It’s possibly a bit random for this time of the season, but a RD user sent this amusing video in so I figured I’d post it for a laugh ahead of the weekend.

Despite being one of the best number tens in world rugby for many years, the Munster man has at times been somewhat of a liability in his defensive channel. Players and coaches know they can target him and the majority of the time, get over the gain line or at least provide an offload.

Ironically it’s perhaps somewhat of a testament to the courage of the man that he has, as the song says, got up again after all the big knocks
, including the unfortunate role he played in the Lions series last year.

Whether it’s Pierre Spies or Jamie Heaslip, Jaque Fourie or even Shane Williams, they’ve all had a go at him, knocked him down, and he’s got back up. He was in fact recently named as the best European player of the last 15 years.

So while this clip is definitely having a go at his poor tackling and shows the big knocks he’s taken, there’s the underlying message that to be the best you’ve got to take the knocks, get back up, and do it all over again.

Anyway could you not wait until the Heineken Cup starts before stirring the .

Isn't it great to have Irish supporters like you. One of our greatest ever players and one of the top 3 outhalves we have ever had and all we have is the likes of you coming on here looking to slag him off and point out his flaws instead of looking at all the great achievements he has had in a career that is drawing to a close. In fairness a very thinly veiled attempt at not starting a Rog debate especially with the title of your thread. Enjoy your ****-stirring...

Geez there's maybe 6 ( I didn't count them but it's a small number) missed tackles from a guys career in a highlights package.

Trolling thread if ever there was one.

And trolling video also, what was the story with the constant repeat of O'Gara licking his lips in the interview clips? the lad who made this video must be some hero, I'm sure he would do a much better job at tackling 18 stone forwards and wingers with quick feet.

really? i didnt make the video.the video contains him scoring the winning drop goal that wins ireland the grand slam for the first time in donkeys years which is quite flattering. it also finishes by saying he is the best heineken cup rugby player of the last 15 years.setting myself up for a fall by posting that with those compliments in it., its a humorous video and judging by the guy who made it on youtube "conor ryan 79" he must be an irish man with a sense of humour too.he is a turnstile in defence but a consumate pro.dont want a rog debate. its a humorous video.

The most disappointing one i can remember (Lions aside) was when Luke McAlister ran over him one year when we ran the NZ'ers close. Terrible in the tackle is being kind but you'd have to admire a player who despite this has had a very successful career.

I'm not a fan of ROGs, but this video is a bit unfair . .
Yes he's not a strong tackler but I don't think anyone needs another Leinster v Munster, Sexton v ROG debate so I think lets lock the thread and be done with it. He is a top quality player and for every missed tackle he has slotted many important kicks. Personally I would prefer to see Sexton start for Ireland but they are both amazing players and we are lucky to have the two of them.

    Lets leave it at that:D

Typical tall poppy stuff, the guy was instrumental in turning Ireland from a joke of a side in the 1990's to one of the world's top teams and some people want to pretend he was just another also ran. Great stuff.

I love the "i'm not looking to start a ROG debate" , or the "I don't support Ireland" even though he has stated on boards before that he is Irish.
