if you have lost your P45 from your previous employer - where can you then another one? from that employer or revenue?

Ask your employer they may be able to give a new one. Whats it for, starting a new job. If so ask them for their paye reg number ring revenue tell them the paye reg number and your start date. Revenue should have your pay and tax details from your old job as part a of your p45 would have been sent to revenue when you got it.

my mate is starting a new job but has not been working for the past 3 months. So can the previous employer just get another one or would it be better to just get their paye reg number and get another p45 from revenue? sorry i am not up to speed on all this - nor is my mate

if he got a hand written P45 then he should get their reg number and get onto revenue. they will advise from there. your mate will also need their new employers number while on the phone he can register himself to his new employer.

If it was a printout then the old employer can just print out another one no big deal.
